The Corset Is Forever Evolving

Corsets Are More Than A Fashion Trend

A fashion trend is a style of clothing, a hairstyle, or an accessory that is popular at a certain point in time. The corset dates back to the 16th century and has never truly disappeared from fashion. Throughout the years and with every re-appearance of the corset, we learned that the name has changed from Bodies, to Stays, Corsets, Pretty Housemaids, and to Merry Widows. Additionally, both the style and silhouette evolved over the centuries, and the corset’s purpose has improved overall. Although corsets support the latest trends, we can’t say that the corset itself is a trend. It is a timeless fashion staple.

A Bold Comeback

Corsets Are More Than A Fashion Trend

This iconic fashion piece made a bold comeback on the catwalks of the Spring/Summer 2022 fashion shows, and now it can be seen in the Netflix series, Bridgerton, with its style of Regencycore. Bridgerton takes its viewers into a world of high society during the English Regency era in the early 19th century, with a focus on regal-esque, debutante styles and an emphasis on delicate embellishments, corsets, longline gloves, and feminine headpieces.

Fairycore Fashion

Corsets Are More Than A Fashion Trend

Now, the emerging aesthetic of Fairycore fashion is taking over social media, especially on Tiktok. The fairycore aesthetic is all about the theme of magic in nature and the corset is an integral part of this style. I love how corsets are evolving to support the trends for every generation.

Wide Denim Flares

Corsets Are More Than A Fashion Trend

Over the years, some of the biggest names in fashion have experimented with corsets or corset-like tailoring in their designs by layering corsetry over garments rather than under them. I have been doing this for almost two decades as my brand is all about wearing corsets as an outer layer. I believe corsets should be worn to be seen!

Another one of the hottest trend comebacks in full force this season are bell bottoms. It’s the very wide denim flares that are the most popular among fashionistas. Paired with my denim corset, I wanted this look to be bold and embrace a western-inspired flair. I designed this corset with a bright colored floral embroidery, distressed denim, knit and velvet fabrics, a diamond studded busk (at the center front opening), jacquard ribbon, Swarovski crystals, and two fully functional pockets. This is the corset to make you feel wild and free.

Let’s get started on a custom handmade corset of your own! I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Please comment below.

Cheers!
