Ready for Takeoff: Packing for a Photoshoot Adventure in Lake Como

How I planed an International Photoshoot Part 2

In case you missed Part 1 of this blog series, you can read it here.

The day finally arrived! With luggage in tow, we headed to the airport. Along with my own belongings, I packed the corsets, skirts, shoes, accessories, jewelry, pashminas for the models in case it got chilly, flat shoes and flip-flops, and my trusty troubleshooting kit – because you never know when you might need scissors, a needle and thread, safety pins, or tape!

Arriving to Milan: The Final Prep

How I planed an International Photoshoot Part 2

When we arrived in Milan, I was both excited and anxious to get to Lake Como. I couldn’t wait to see the beautiful city and also to unpack and organize for the photoshoot, which was the following day. After we picked up our luggage, we met the taxi driver that we had booked before we left the US and headed straight to Lake Como to check into our hotel and to meet with the photographers who had already arrived. We made a recap on-site together down to every detail including start times, where we were going to shoot each corset, and the time to break for lunch.

Appreciation to Detail

How I planed an International Photoshoot Part 2

We then met with the marketing and communications manager of the Mandarin Oriental Lake Como Hotel to coordinate details for the photoshoot, including arranging a water taxi for specific shots. She took the time to listen carefully to our goals for the day and was incredibly accommodating, walking us through the property to identify ideal shoot locations that wouldn’t disturb other guests. She even mentioned that she reviewed my website before our arrival, which was a wonderful surprise, and expressed how impressed she was with my work.

Stay tuned for Part 3, where we dive into the photoshoot and bring the corsets to life on camera.

Let’s get started on a custom handmade corset of your own! I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Please comment below.
